New Clojure features and Aarhus meetup?
There are lot’s of interesting things happening with Clojure: The release of 1.1 packing lots of cool stuff (see changelog) like Transients, Chunked Seqs, Futures and Promises.
For those following the “new” branch of Clojure which was recently merged into master there are some very interesting things down the road: Protocols and Datatypes (I don’t think that documentation is entirely up to date). To me these are groundbreaking feature that lets me use the better versions of the good parts of Object Orientation (i.e. domain modeling and open type-based polymorphism) while staying completely functional and avoiding the not-so-good parts of OO. Jacob: Programming Clojure will no longer be so much different 
I was wondering who would be up for a dcug meetup in Aarhus some time soon? I am not sure what we will do for the meetup: I could talk about these new features, but I’d prefer someone else talking for a change 
I am open to ideas.. Perhaps we should invite Lau? Let me know if you are interested and, if so, what you would like to do…

Actually, I do not mind that Clojure as a language is very different. On the contrary, I want to embrace that and use it to my advantage!
What spooked me initially was the lack of familiar build tools, debugging support, unit testing frameworks etc. But since then, some new things have emerged in this area (eg. Leiningen) and some existing things I have discovered.
I think it would be great to arrange a meetup in Aarhus soon. I would really like to hear about what everybody else is up to. Inviting Lau is a good idea, but even without a lot of presentations planned, I’m sure we won’t run out of topics to talk about informally
If there is enough interest, I think we should make it a monthly event. This is what we do in aarhus.rb, and it works pretty well.
Any ideas for a date and place? I’m sure I could book a conference room in Incuba SP on Aabogade, or maybe we could borrow one at Trifork?
OK, I am sure Trifork will sponsor a room.
